Fire crews responded to a suspicious fire Sunday night in midtown Ventura at an auto parts store already shuttered from a previous blaze.
The fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. near Katherine and Main streets and large amounts of smoke were seen billowing in the neighborhood, according to initial fire reports. Multiple units responded to the blaze in the 2600 block of Main Street.
Fire officials said the Autozone building had been boarded up and secured with fencing since a fire May 10.
No other structures were affected and no injuries were reported, according to the Ventura Fire Department.
The blaze began inside the building and the cause is suspicious and currently under investigation.
Firefighters put out the main part of the fire by 8:30 p.m., according to initial radio reports.
