Sparrows Point 16, Patapsco 0: The Pointers weathered a rain storm to open their season with a win. Riley Brubach and Rocki Rode had hat tricks. Brubach also added four assists. Ramsey Coffman had two goals and three assists, while Skylee Adams and Emily Bean also scored twice. Izzy Orozco, Jazzy Coffman, Mailyn Parks and Laina Unkart also had goals.
Patterson Mill 2, Bo Manor 1: Kiley Wilhelm and Maddie Tunney each scored for the Huskies in their win.
Century 2, McDonogh 1: Abigail Kristian scored twice for the Knights as they edged the Eagles. Julia Bornyek and Madison Leach assisted Kristian on the goals.
Glenelg 5, Centennial 0: The Gladiators (2-0) were led by AJ Eyre with a pair of goals and assists. Theresa Stiller scored twice as Ashley Kim also scored. Glenelg pulled away in the second half with four goals.
Notre Dame Prep 6, Fallston 0: The host Blazers improved to 2-0 and host Winters Mill 4 p.m. on Friday.
Severna Park 2, Chesapeake 0: Goalie Shelley Brown stopped six shots for the host Cougars in the loss.
Hereford 2 North Harford 1: Riley Hackett and Lydia Bennett each scored to lead the host Bulls over the Hawks in double overtime. Kendall Fortune scored for North Harford.
River Hill 6, Atholton 0: The Hawks built a 3-0 lead at the half as Maddie Vasilios and Puja Nanjappa each scored twice. Maya Chan and Evelyn Dzubak also scored. Vasilos also thrived as a facilitator with four assists, as Nanjappa also added an assist.
Hammond 2, Oakland Mills 0: The Golden Bears earned their first win of the season as senior Dylan Murphy scored in the third period, assisted by Hannah Haber. Lauren Johnson also scored off a penalty corner in the fourth period. Lily DeBlasio made four saves for Hammond.
Severna Park 2, Chesapeake 0: Ava Drexler-Amey and Madison Evans each netted goals to pull the Falcons over the Cougars in a close-fought meeting.
Charlotte Kramer made six saves for Severna Park. Shelby Brown had six stops in goal for Chesapeake as well.
St. Mary’s 5, Friends 1: Charlie Roy amassed two goals and an assist in the win while Kam Ross, Brian Sands and Jack Callaghan all put one away each. Landon Ross offered an assist on one. The Saints (1-0) took eight shots on goal while only allowing two. Goalkeeper Erik Chick made one stop.
Broadneck 3, North County 2: Harlan Welsh had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Bruins over the Knights.Ethan Colon and Dylan Thompson each scored for Broadneck and Nick Chinchilla nd Israel Ogwu had a goal each for North County.
Carver A&T 2, Chesapeake-BC 0: Jeremy Hoch scored off a Noah Parcover assist for Carver’s first goal, and the pair switched roles with Hoch assisting Parcover on the second. Braden Jones made 13 saves to earn the shutout.
Patterson Mill 3, Rising Sun 2: The Huskies won their season-opener on the road over the Tigers. Louie Cristofaro, Vinnie Wysong and Diego Peralta scored a goal each. Peralta and JP Pickard earned assists, while goalie Matt Bechtel tallied six saves in goal.
Havre de Grace 3, North East 2: Blake Clark, Wayne Hudson and Cole Bravo scored a goal apiece in the Warriors season-opening win over the visiting Indians. Goalie Cameron Grant made 10 saves.
Severn 5, Park 1: Davis Cawlfield had a hat trick to lead the Admirals to the convincing victory. Ammar Yusef contributed a goal and an assist for the winners, who led 4-0 at halftime.
K.J. Lloyd scored the other goal, while Caden Taylor contributed an assist for Severn, which outshot Park 17-4.
Century 1, Bel Air 1: Nothing was decided Wednesday between the Knights and Bobcats as the game finished in a tie. Cooper Santos scored for Century off an assist from Gavin Spath. Carter Lakenan made three saves.
Thomas Johnson 1, South Carroll 0: The game’s only goal came off an own goal nine minutes into the game. Landon Pugliese made nine saves for the Cavaliers.
John Carroll 6, C. Milton Wright 0: Megann Kalthof scored twice in the Patriots’ win. Ella Steck, Lauren Bulloc, Emma Fuchs and Naimah Saccoh also hit the back of the net in the win.
Indian Creek 1, Sandy Springs 0: Malia Hydes scored the game-winner with 20 minutes left directly off a corner kick as the Eagles evened their record at 1-1 with a road win. Mya Duckett and Cheyenne Thomas combined efforts in goal to secure the shutout. Maisie White, Beth Christie and Faith Spirt provided stellar play in the midfield.
Broadneck 1, North County 0: Goalie Taylor Stiegler amassed 17 saves for the host Knights in the loss. The Bruins, who used steady offensive pressure to pile up 15 corner kicks, scored the lone goal in the final minute of the first half.
Hereford 1, Fallston 0: Defenses ruled the vast majority of Hereford and Fallston’s match Wednesday. The game was scoreless into double overtime until Hereford’s Ainsley Yates sent a corner kick to Lauren Orner who converted it for the game’s only goal. Annabelle Grenzer made five saves for the Bulls.
Rising Sun 1, Patterson Mill 0: The visiting Tigers scored the game-winning goal 1:30 into the second overtime period. Huskies goalie Caitlyn Welker had seven saves.
Carver A&T 3, Franklin 0: The Wildcats won 25-17, 25-12, 25-19. Alexandra Dzhygit led Carver with 10 aces. Kseniya Halavina tossed up 13 assists.
Fallston 3, Hereford 1: All four sets were close, but Fallston prevailed 20-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-21. Kyra Douglass led the Cougars with 15 kills, two aces, two assists and three digs. Sam Conrad and Sam Ruth handed out 14 and 15 assists, respectively. Ellery Thompson and Renae Gent each had eight kills.
Patterson Mill 3, Towson 1: The visiting Huskies won in four sets over Generals, 25-22, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17. Zoe Valan led the Huskies, racking up 42 assists, 10 digs and two service aces. Josie Otremba, Julia Shrewsberry and Ella Laurentius combined for 32 kills, while Ava Shores had 39 digs.
Mercy 3, Indian Creek 0: The Eagles fell in three sets, 3-25, 10-25 and 11-25.
Dulaney 152, Catonsville 182: Sophomore Quinn Collins shot a two-under 33 to lead the Lions (2-0). Sophomore Ryan Dannenfelser backed him with a 39.
Liberty 158, Winters Mill 165: Jack Davidson shot the match’s low round with a 36 as the Lions won at Westminster National. Spencer Trump added a 39, Ryan Baker shot a 41 and Cam Hodges posted a 42 for the winners. Hayden Brilhart led Winters Mill with a 37. Tyler Kimble backed him with a 42, while Gianni Serafin and Owen Willoughby shot 43s.
Southern 184, Chesapeake 188, Annapolis 198, Old Mill 208, Arundel 215: Winston Thomas shot the low round of the day with a 38 over nine holes as Southern won a B Division match held at Renditions. Teammate Rex Fullerton finished third with a 42 for the Bulldogs.
Joshua Colangelo was the individual runner-up with a 40 to lead Chesapeake, which placed second. Arundel’s Ryan Fortescue, Old Mill’s Brandon Rzepkowski and Annapolis’ Matt Ryan tied for fourth with scores of 46.
Northeast 195, North County 237, Glen Burnie 254, Chesapeake Science Point 254, Meade 271: Ethan Mabe and Declan McClure led the Eagles, shooting a 44 and 47 respectively.
Zack Danielson took third for the Gophers, with a score of 49, tied with Travis White from North County.
Manchester Valley 167, Century 176, Westminster 178: Century’s Ryan Durborow earned medalists honors with a 39 at Oakmont, but the Mavericks took the top spot in a tri-match. Parker Bopst led Manchester Valley with a 40, Gavin Reid and Matt Slivosky shot 42s and Jamison Gogue shot 43. Brody Comer posted a 40 for Century. Peyton Gooding and Colin Norfolk each shot 44 to lead Westminster.
