...University of Missouri news/talk KCUR Kansas City (89.3) has been chosen by Casual Animal Brewing as the latest nonprofit to participate in its Local Motive “give-back tap” program. During the months of September and October, $2.00 from every pint sold of Local Motive beer will go to support KCUR’s non-profit journalism. “We can't think of a nonprofit that aligns with our school of thought more than KCUR,” Casual Animal co-founder Lara Gray said in a release. “Sure, good beer is important but unbiased, approachable, and insightful journalism is essential to powering a community. We are thrilled to partner with KCUR this fall and look forward to conversations about their local news coverage and perceptive podcasts over a shared pint in the taproom."

...Steve Barrios, Tulane Sports Network football radio analyst, celebrates 40 years with the school this year. “My main goal was that I wanted to do the analysis in the way that the housewife sitting down at the radio could understand what was going on,” Barrios told Crescent City Sports in a Q&A feature. “It frustrates me today, especially in the pro game, when you listen to guys talking about a one, two, three or four. The average housewife has no idea what that means. My goal was to break down the play and try to make it easy to understand what was happening on the field.” Tulane University football is broadcast on iHeartMedia classic hits “104.1 The Spot” KVDU New Orleans.
