Wide Receivers Preview Part Two

Talking the business of sports

Current Records: Pittsburgh 7-6-1; Kansas City 10-4

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs will compete for holiday cheer at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. If the matchup is anything like the Chiefs' 42-37 win from their previous meeting in September of 2018, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

Pittsburgh didn't have too much breathing room in their game with the Tennessee Titans last week, but they still walked away with a 19-13 victory. Pittsburgh's only offensive touchdown came on a rush from QB Ben Roethlisberger.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 13. K Chris Boswell delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Kansas City ultimately got the result they were hoping for last Thursday with a 34-28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City can attribute much of their success to TE Travis Kelce, who caught ten passes for two TDs and 191 yards. Kelce's performance made up for a slower contest against the Las Vegas Raiders two weeks ago.

The wins brought Kansas City up to 10-4 and the Steelers to 7-6-1. Both teams are in the playoff hunt, so this is a critical matchup.

A couple offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Pittsburgh is stumbling into the matchup with the second fewest rushing yards per game in the league, having accrued only 84.6 on average. The Chiefs' offense has more to brag about, as they they rank third in the NFL when it comes to yards per game, with 397.2 on average.

Pittsburgh have won three out of their last five games against Kansas City.
